Terra LoomMovers
Sunlit, nearly empty living room with pale walls and bare wooden floors on moving day

Home & small-office movers

Every move is a thread we carry carefully from one home to the next.

Terra Loom packs, lifts, drives and reassembles with one steady crew — the same faces at both doors, and a written quote that does not move once it is agreed.

Weekday, weekend and staged moves · Packing and crating included on request

A quote in writing

We survey the rooms, list the load and send one fixed figure. No hourly drift, no surprise line at the kerb.

Padding comes standard

Quilted blankets, corner guards, floor runners and made-to-size crates for mirrors, glass and art.

One crew, start to finish

The team that wraps your kitchen is the team that unwraps it. Nobody hands your boxes to a stranger mid-route.

What we move

Six kinds of moving day, handled the same careful way

Tell us which one sounds like yours and we will size the crew, the truck and the packing materials to match it.

Whole-house moves

Three bedrooms, a loft full of boxes and a garden shed nobody has opened since spring. We plan the order the night before.

Most booked

Apartments & walk-ups

Narrow stairwells, lift bookings and awkward landings. We measure the turns first so the sofa never becomes a problem.

Stairs included

Small office relocations

Desks, screens and the filing nobody wants to touch — moved after hours and rebuilt so Monday starts on time.

Out of hours

Packing & crating

Full pack, kitchen-only or fragiles-only. Everything labelled by room and listed on an inventory you keep.

Add on

Storage between dates

When keys do not line up, your load waits in a dry, racked unit and comes back out on the day you say.

Flexible

Single awkward items

A piano, a stone table, a wardrobe built inside the room. One item, the right crew and the right straps.

By survey

How the day runs

Four steps, so nothing about moving day is a guess

You will know who is arriving, what they are carrying and when the last box lands before the truck ever pulls up.

  1. STEP 01

    Walkthrough survey

We look at every room, note the heavy and the fragile, and check access at both ends — doorways, stairs, kerb space.

  2. STEP 02

    Fixed written plan

Crew size, truck size, materials and timings arrive in one document with a single price and a clear start window.

  3. STEP 03

    Pack & load

Runners down, furniture blanketed, boxes labelled by room. The load is built so the first things off are the ones you need first.

  4. STEP 04

    Place & rebuild

Beds and tables reassembled, boxes left in the right rooms, packing waste taken away, then a walkthrough together.

Our care

Careful is a method, not a promise

The difference between a calm move and a long one is almost always preparation. Here is what we do before anything heavy leaves the ground.

  • Floors and frames firstRunners along the route, padded guards on door frames and bannisters before the first item moves.
  • An inventory you keepEvery box numbered and tied to a room, so you can tell at a glance what has arrived and what has not.
  • Dismantle and rebuildBed frames, wardrobes and table legs come apart with their fixings bagged, labelled and taped to the piece they belong to.
  • A tidy finishFlattened cartons, used wrap and blankets leave with the truck unless you want to keep them for unpacking.

In-between dates

When the keys do not line up

Completion slips, tenancies overlap, a renovation runs a week long. Your whole load can wait with us instead of in a friend's garage.

  • Dry, racked units with your inventory kept on file
  • Loaded straight from the truck, so nothing is handled twice
  • Booked by the week, extended or ended whenever your date lands
  • Redelivered by the same crew who packed it

Questions

The things people ask before booking

How far ahead should we book?

Two to three weeks is comfortable for a house, and a few days is often enough for a studio or a single item. Month-end Fridays fill first, so if your date is fixed, send it early and we will hold the slot while the survey is arranged.

Do we need to pack anything ourselves?

Only if you want to. Many people pack their own clothes and books and leave the kitchen, glass and artwork to us. Say which parts you would like covered and the quote reflects exactly that.

What happens to fragile or valuable pieces?

Mirrors, screens, glass tops and framed art are crated or boxed to size, loaded upright and strapped separately from the general load. Anything unusual is noted at the survey so the right materials are on the truck.

What if there is nowhere to park the truck?

We check kerb access at both addresses during the survey. Where space is tight we plan a shuttle with a smaller van, arrange a loading window with the building, or schedule the quietest hour of the day.

Is there anything you will not carry?

Fuels, gas bottles, fireworks, open paint and anything else flammable or corrosive stay behind, along with plants on long routes and anything a crew cannot lift safely without specialist rigging. We will flag it at the survey rather than on the day.

Can we change the date after booking?

Yes. Dates shift all the time in a chain. Tell us as soon as you know and we will move the booking to the next workable slot, keeping the same crew wherever the calendar allows.

Tell us about the move

A few lines is plenty to start. We reply with a survey time, and after that you get one fixed figure with everything listed.

What happens next We read every enquiry ourselves, come back within a working day, and arrange a walkthrough at a time that suits you — in person or by video for smaller moves.
Where we work Local and regional moves across the valley towns and the coast road, plus long-distance relocations planned as a two-day run.

We use what you send here only to prepare your quote.
